Aura Medical Clinic

Icoone Laser Med and pressotherapy are non-surgical body treatments that can both appear in a conversation about drainage or a feeling of relief in the tissues. They are not, however, the same method or two names for the same session. Icoone uses mechanical microstimulation and may add laser and LED components, while pressotherapy applies controlled pneumatic compression through an air-chamber garment.

The practical decision is therefore not which treatment is best in general. It is whether your main concern involves cellulite appearance, skin quality and elasticity or contour support, or whether the conversation is primarily about drainage, circulation and a feeling of heavy legs. An individual assessment is needed to connect that goal with an appropriate plan.

The difference at a glance

What are you comparing? Icoone Laser Med Pressotherapy
Method Mechanical tissue microstimulation; the Laser Med configuration may include laser and LED according to the programme. Controlled pneumatic compression from air chambers that inflate and deflate in cycles.
Main goals to discuss Cellulite appearance, skin quality and elasticity, drainage and support for body contouring. Lymphatic-drainage and circulation support, a feeling of heavy legs or fluid retention in someone assessed as suitable.
How a session is tailored Programme, intensity, area and applicator movements are adapted to the goal and tolerance. Programme, pressure, duration and garment fit are selected after a safety check.
What the name cannot decide It cannot by itself predict a change in skin or contour. It cannot identify the cause of swelling and is not a weight-loss or fat-reduction treatment.

This table separates the method from the consultation goal. It does not establish suitability, predict an outcome or imply that the treatments should be combined.

When the goal concerns skin, tissues and contour

Icoone may be discussed when the focus is on the appearance of cellulite, skin quality or elasticity, and support for contouring a selected area. The device is moved over the treatment zone in a controlled way. Depending on the chosen programme, Laser Med may combine mechanical microstimulation with laser and LED components.

The area, skin condition, relevant history and the patient’s goal are checked before treatment. A programme and settings are then selected while tolerance is monitored during the session. Session number and spacing are part of an individual plan and are reviewed against the body’s response; Icoone is not presented as a substitute for weight loss.

When the goal concerns compression and drainage

For pressotherapy, a specialised garment is placed around the treatment area. Its air chambers inflate and deflate in cycles to apply controlled compression. Pressure and duration are not standard for everyone: they depend on the area, goal, tolerance and safety assessment.

The method may be discussed for lymphatic-drainage and circulation support, a feeling of heavy legs, or fluid retention once a person has been assessed as suitable. Pressotherapy is not a slimming or fat-reduction treatment. New, painful, one-sided or unexplained swelling needs assessment of its cause before a body-treatment choice is considered.

Where the goals can overlap without becoming interchangeable

Drainage appears in the information for both services, but that single point of overlap does not make Icoone and pressotherapy substitutes. With Icoone, drainage is one possible goal alongside skin, tissue and contour support. With pressotherapy, controlled compression and drainage-related goals are central to the method.

If more than one issue matters to you, describe each one separately: the surface appearance of the skin, the area you want assessed for contour support, or the sensation of heaviness, for example. Aura’s team can explain which service may be considered and how a plan would be reviewed. This article does not assume that both treatments belong in the same plan or in a particular order.

What to report before a session

For either treatment, share your relevant health history and report recent procedures, wounds or active infections, unexplained pain or swelling and known circulation problems. For pressotherapy, the team also checks garment fit, skin and sensation. For Icoone, the programme and intensity are adapted to the treatment area and goal.

A temporary tissue reaction, redness or tenderness may occur after a session, depending on the method and area. Aftercare instructions should come from the individual plan rather than from a generic timetable.

Five questions to ask at consultation

  1. Is my main goal cellulite appearance, skin quality, contour support, drainage or relief from a heavy-leg sensation?
  2. Is there any symptom or part of my history that needs a different assessment first?
  3. Why is Icoone or pressotherapy being considered for my stated goal?
  4. How will the area, programme, intensity or pressure and session plan be selected?
  5. How will change be assessed, and when will the plan be reviewed?

A short checklist to save

  • ☐ I have noted the area and the change or sensation I want to discuss.
  • ☐ I understand that a shared drainage theme does not make the treatments interchangeable.
  • ☐ I will report any new, painful, one-sided or unexplained swelling.
  • ☐ I have my relevant health history and recent-procedure information ready.
  • ☐ I will ask for an individual plan rather than a standard number of sessions.
