Aura Medical Clinic offers PRP and PRF treatments in Tirana as part of biostimulation and regeneration programmes. Within Aura’s services, PRP and PRF are presented on a single page because they belong to the same family of autologous treatments using material prepared from the patient’s own blood.
Treatment is planned after an individual assessment. The area, application method, number of sessions and combination with other procedures are determined according to the patient’s aim and the protocol chosen by the specialist.
What are PRP and PRF?
PRP and PRF are prepared from a small blood sample taken from the patient. The blood is processed by centrifugation to separate the fraction to be used in treatment. The prepared material is applied to the planned area using the technique chosen by the specialist.
These treatments are autologous because the material comes from the patient. PRP and PRF are not fillers and are not used as standard materials for adding volume. Their aim is to support natural regeneration processes and gradual improvement in tissue quality.
Treatment areas and aims
PRP and PRF may be included in a plan for:
- the face;
- the neck and décolletage;
- the hands;
- the eye contour;
- improving skin quality and texture;
- facial freshness and overall appearance;
- the scalp, as part of hair treatments.
The area and aim are established during consultation. Facial and scalp treatments use material prepared from the patient’s blood, but their plans and application methods are tailored to the respective area.
How the procedure is carried out
The process includes:
- Consultation and assessment of the area to be treated.
- Checking medical history and establishing the plan.
- Taking a small amount of venous blood.
- Processing the blood by centrifugation.
- Applying the prepared material using the planned technique.
- Instructions for care after the procedure and follow-up.
Aura describes the procedure as taking around 45–60 minutes, with strict sterile conditions observed. An anaesthetic cream may be used before treatment for comfort, according to the area and plan.
PRP and PRF for the face
In facial treatments, PRP and PRF are used to support regeneration and improvement in skin quality. The consultation may cover texture, elasticity, radiance, fine lines, acne scars and other areas requiring individual assessment.
Treatment may be applied through microinjections or combined with microneedling, according to the selected protocol.
PRP and PRF for hair
On the scalp, treatment may be included in a programme to stimulate follicles, support microcirculation and improve hair density and thickness. The plan is established after assessing the cause and stage of hair loss.
Results develop gradually and are reviewed during the treatment cycle.
Before and after treatment
Before the procedure, the patient should report medicines and supplements, bleeding problems, infections, blood disorders, anaemia, pregnancy or breastfeeding and recent procedures. Any instructions about tests, food or hydration are provided individually.
Temporary redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness may occur in the application area after treatment. The patient receives instructions for skin or scalp care and activities to avoid temporarily.
Sessions and results
Improvement is gradual. Aura describes a protocol of three initial sessions at 4–6-week intervals and maintenance sessions every 6–12 months, tailored to individual needs.
The final number of sessions and the interval between them are determined by the specialist and may vary according to the area, aim and patient response.
Combining with other treatments
Depending on the individual plan, PRP and PRF may be combined with Skin Boosters, microneedling, fractional laser and other aesthetic treatments. The specialist determines the combination strategy according to the area and intended result.
