How a thread lift works
The threads are placed under the skin with a fine needle or cannula. They pull the tissue into the planned position and, over time, stimulate collagen production. The threads dissolve gradually on their own.
Who it may suit
Mild to moderate skin laxity on the cheeks, the jawline, the brows or the neck, in people who do not want surgery. When laxity is pronounced, the doctor may discuss a surgical mini-facelift.
How the treatment is carried out
At the consultation, the skin, the tissue and your goal are assessed. On the day of treatment, the area is cleaned and numbed with local anaesthetic, then the threads are placed according to the plan. You go home the same day.
Who performs the treatment
Thread lifts at Aura are performed by Dr. Denada Sherja, a doctor and surgeon trained in aesthetic surgery. More about the team: Our team.
Safety and aftercare
Before treatment, tell the doctor about any medicines, especially blood thinners, as well as allergies, infections, autoimmune diseases and pregnancy. After treatment there may be swelling, bruising, tenderness, slight asymmetry or rippling of the skin, which usually settle. Rarely, a thread can be felt under the skin or come out, and a check-up is then needed. For a few days, avoid facial massage, opening your mouth wide and strenuous physical activity.
Results
The lifting effect is visible straight away and improves as the swelling goes down. The result is temporary, and how long it lasts depends on the type of thread, the area and the skin.
Price
The price depends on the area and the number of threads. Aura prepares an individual quote after the consultation.
