Aura Medical Clinic

A companion travelling with someone for breast augmentation in Tirana can make practical arrangements easier, but their role needs to be agreed rather than assumed. They may help with transport, documents and communication. They do not determine suitability, select an operation or material, or decide when the patient can return home.

This guide is separate from Aura’s general breast-augmentation travel article. It focuses on the companion’s responsibilities: when to be present, how to respect consent, what practical help to prepare and when to contact the clinical team instead of making a judgement alone.

Confirm the companion’s role before booking

Ask Aura whether an adult companion is recommended or required for the individual plan. The answer may differ between the consultation, operation day, departure from the clinic, transport, time at the accommodation and reviews. Do not use another patient’s arrangements as a rule.

Before fixing travel commitments, clarify:

  1. At which stages must the companion attend in person?
  2. When must they remain reachable by phone?
  3. What transport needs to be arranged for departure from the clinic?
  4. What practical support should be available at the accommodation?
  5. Could a review or change in plan require the companion to return to the clinic?

Keep the companion’s own tickets, work and appointments changeable until those expectations are clear. Being in Tirana does not by itself define when the person may leave the patient or how far away they may go.

Let the patient control consent and information

The patient decides whether the companion joins a discussion, hears instructions or receives a practical update. Agree on these boundaries before the appointment. The patient remains the person who provides health information, describes the goal, asks clinical questions and participates in informed decisions.

Do not expect access to photographs, records or health details merely because you travelled together. If the patient wants Aura to contact the companion about transport or a schedule change, ask how that permission should be recorded. A useful companion supports the conversation without speaking over the patient.

Prepare transport and accommodation for flexibility

Ask Aura what needs to be organised for the procedure day and departure from the clinic. Keep the clinic address, contact route, travel documents and transport details easy to find. Discharge is not automatic clearance for the patient to drive, fly or continue an itinerary.

Review practical features of the accommodation, such as access, stairs or a lift, a suitable place to rest and how essential items will be obtained. Ask which preparations matter for the confirmed plan. Do not build a medication, activity, sleep, food or care routine from general online advice.

This article does not present Aura as providing flights, hotels, transfers, meals, tours or a treatment-holiday package. Arrange travel separately and avoid booking terms that could pressure a clinical decision or review.

Record instructions without becoming the clinician

With the patient’s consent, the companion can listen to instructions, keep documents together and note confirmed appointments. Ask for the important points in writing and make sure you know which channel to use if a concern arises.

A companion must not:

  • change a medicine, dose or care instruction;
  • choose an implant, material, technique or operation;
  • decide that an unexpected sign is harmless;
  • set the date for activity, driving or travel; or
  • replace a review requested by Aura.

If the situation differs from the written instructions or a reportable sign appears, contact the clinic through the route provided. Helping the patient describe what has happened is useful; diagnosing it or delaying contact is not the companion’s role.

Protect time around reviews and return decisions

Do not build the stay around a standard number of days. Ask which reviews require the patient to remain in Tirana, how quickly you may need to reach the clinic and how the plan would change if reassessment were requested. The companion’s work schedule or return ticket cannot decide the patient’s clinical timeline.

Keep enough uncommitted time around the procedure and checkpoints. Return travel should be discussed according to actual progress and individual instructions. Neither a companion nor an article can guarantee a discharge date, recovery period or fitness-to-fly date.

The New Bazaar: a companion-only stop

If the companion has genuinely free time and no immediate support responsibility, the New Bazaar in Tirana can be considered as a separate city stop. The Albanian National Tourism Agency describes the New Bazaar as a redeveloped area near Tirana’s historic centre, with a covered market and a surrounding neighbourhood of cafés, restaurants, artisan workshops and souvenir shops. Check the official source for current information before going.

Clinical timing and recovery come first; the New Bazaar is suggested only for the companion while the patient rests and follows Aura’s instructions, and the visit should remain easy to cancel if support is needed.

This is not a recommendation for the patient to sightsee after surgery. The stop is not part of an Aura package. Cancel it if the patient needs you or if it conflicts with transport, a review or an instruction. Do not turn the market’s food offering into recovery or dietary advice.

Plan communication after leaving Tirana

Before returning, ask which checkpoints must be completed, who gives travel advice and what to do if the booking has to change. Keep the clinic contact, written instructions and any documents the patient has authorised you to hold accessible during the journey.

Clarify how communication continues after departure and what to do if an in-person assessment is needed near home. The companion can help make contact and organise information, but should not decide that remote messages replace an examination requested by the clinical team.
