A surgical brow lift, also called a forehead lift, is planned around the position of the eyebrows and the tissues of the upper face. The surgeon assesses the brows, forehead, eyelids and overall facial balance to understand the source of the concern and which areas should or should not be included.
Aura Medical Clinic offers this as a distinct surgical service. The name does not define the technique: approach, access points, extent, anaesthesia and method of tissue repositioning are determined individually after consultation.
What a brow lift may aim to address
The procedure may be discussed when a patient is concerned about brow position, visible heaviness in the upper face or changes in forehead tissues. The aim is not to create the same brow shape for everyone, but to prepare a plan that considers anatomy, existing asymmetry and the patient’s goal.
Surgery cannot guarantee absolute symmetry, a particular expression or an end to ageing. The surgeon explains which changes are realistic, which characteristics may remain and how the proposal relates to the rest of the face.
Brow lift, blepharoplasty and injections
A brow lift focuses on brow position and forehead tissues. Blepharoplasty focuses on eyelid tissues. Because the brows and eyelids jointly affect the appearance of the eye area, assessment must identify the source of the concern before a procedure is selected. A brow lift does not automatically replace blepharoplasty, and blepharoplasty does not automatically correct brow position.
Anti-wrinkle injections are temporary, non-surgical treatments with a different mechanism. They are not the same as surgical tissue repositioning. The surgeon may discuss alternatives, but the choice depends on anatomy, objective and the limitations of each treatment rather than on a general ranking.
Who may be suitable
A consultation may be considered by people who want an assessment of brow position or the upper face and have realistic expectations of surgery. Suitability depends on general health, skin and tissue characteristics, previous surgery or injections, medicines, allergies, smoking and the ability to follow postoperative advice.
The patient should show the surgeon the change they want to discuss without choosing the technique themselves.
Aura’s care pathway
- Initial enquiry and arrangement of the consultation.
- Assessment of the brows, forehead, eyelids, face and medical history.
- Discussion of the goal, alternatives and limits of the procedure.
- Selection of the surgeon together with the patient according to the case and budget.
- Preoperative tests and individual preparation instructions.
- Surgery in Aura’s operating theatre and postoperative monitoring.
- Discharge home when the criteria are met and follow-up during healing.
Aura works with several experienced Albanian and Italian surgeons. Surgery takes place at Aura’s premises in its new operating theatre, equipped with modern technology. The surgeon and clinical team define the technique, anaesthesia, preparation and care for the individual case.
Preparation and the individual plan
Before surgery, the discussion covers tests, medicines and supplements, allergies, smoking, earlier procedures and support at home. Medicines should not be stopped without instructions from the medical team. The plan should identify the target area, proposed approach, how existing asymmetry will be considered and what is not expected to change.
If blepharoplasty, facelift or another procedure is discussed at the same time, each element needs its own reason, risks and care plan.
Recovery and postoperative care
Swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, tenderness, itching or temporary tightness may occur after surgery. The team gives instructions for wound care, hair and hygiene, resting position, activity, medicines and reviews. Return to work, exercise or travel depends on the technique, extent and individual healing; there is no universal timetable.
The patient should contact the clinic about unexpected symptoms or concerns identified in the instructions. Progress is assessed at follow-up, and advice is adjusted according to healing rather than a fixed online schedule.
Risks and limitations
Possible risks include bleeding, infection, fluid collection, poor wound healing, scarring, asymmetry, altered sensation, nerve injury or weakness, eye irritation, a change in hairline, hair loss near access sites, anaesthetic complications, blood clots, an unsatisfactory result or a need for revision. The surgeon explains individual risk and management before consent.
A result cannot be guaranteed and may change with ageing, health and tissue characteristics. Surgery cannot promise a particular emotion or expression, and small differences between the two sides may remain.
Results and price factors
The aim is a brow position and contour that fits the agreed plan and the patient’s facial features. Appearance is assessed gradually as swelling reduces and tissues heal. Existing asymmetry may improve but may not disappear completely.
The quotation depends on extent, technique, complexity, anaesthesia, tests, materials, combined procedures, included care and selected surgeon. Aura prepares an individual quotation after consultation, once the scope has been defined.
Frequently asked questions
Is a brow lift the same as blepharoplasty?
No. A brow lift addresses the brows and forehead; blepharoplasty addresses eyelid tissues. Assessment identifies the source of the concern.
Is it the same as anti-wrinkle injections?
No. Injections are temporary non-surgical treatments; a brow lift is individually planned surgical repositioning.
Which technique is used?
No technique should be assumed from the name. The surgeon selects and explains the approach after assessment.
