If you are considering bringing somebody with you for a hair transplant in Tirana, define that person’s role before travelling. A companion can help organise practical details, keep documents together and follow the agreed schedule. They do not replace Aura Medical Clinic’s clinical team or alter the patient’s instructions.
Aura has not stated that every hair-transplant patient requires a companion. Ask what is recommended in your case, when the person should be available and which parts of the process remain private or depend on your permission.
Divide responsibilities before the trip
Write down a few specific responsibilities. The patient remains the person who receives the clinical explanation and gives consent. The companion can support information and logistics only to the extent the patient has authorised.
| Topic | Patient | Companion |
|---|---|---|
| Clinical decisions | Discusses the goal, assessment and plan with Aura. | Listens with permission; does not choose a technique or treatment plan. |
| Documents | Supplies requested information and checks that it is accurate. | Holds copies or notes only when authorised. |
| Schedule | Confirms consultation, procedure and review times. | Helps keep transport and other commitments compatible with the schedule. |
| Instructions | Receives and follows personal instructions. | Can help remember them but does not modify them. |
| Contact | Decides what the clinic may communicate and to whom. | Contacts Aura only through the agreed route and within the permitted role. |
This division provides practical support without turning the companion into a clinical decision-maker.
Ask whether and when the companion should be present
Do not assume that the person must attend every stage or may enter clinical areas. Before travelling, ask Aura:
- Is a companion recommended or required for any part of my individual process?
- At which times should the person be available?
- Where can they wait during the procedure?
- Which instructions may be discussed with them if I agree?
- Which contact route should they use if I need assistance?
- Which decisions and personal information remain between the patient and the clinical team?
The answers should refer to the confirmed plan, not to another patient’s itinerary.
Set communication and privacy boundaries
Before consultation, tell Aura whether you want the companion to participate in the conversation. Clarify whether they may receive instructions, take notes or be contacted about practical arrangements. Do not leave consent implicit.
The companion can help the patient remember questions, but should not answer in the patient’s place when Aura asks about medical history, treatment objectives or consent. If language support is needed, ask the clinic how communication will be handled. A bilingual relative or friend should not assume the role of a clinical interpreter without agreement.
Keep the written instructions and clinic contact available on both phones only if the patient agrees. Shared access can be useful, but it should not expose health information through a device or channel that the patient has not approved.
Organise logistics without assuming a package
Confirm transport, accommodation and reservations independently. This article does not state that Aura supplies flights, hotels, airport transfers or tours. If a practical service is discussed, obtain written confirmation before treating it as included.
Keep arrangements flexible. The consultation, procedure and clinical review schedule come before a sightseeing reservation. The companion should know the confirmed address, times and contact route, but must not improvise changes to the clinical plan.
Prepare one folder containing appointment confirmations, requested documents, contact information and instructions supplied by Aura. Avoid sending health information through an unapproved booking or messaging channel merely for convenience.
During and after the procedure
While the patient is with the team, the companion should follow the clinic’s directions about where to wait and when to return. They should remain reachable, but should not expect live clinical updates unless the patient has authorised them and Aura can provide them.
Afterwards, practical support may include keeping written instructions and contact details accessible and helping the patient organise belongings around the agreed plan. It does not include giving independent advice about washing, sleeping, activity, medicines, products or protection of the grafts.
If the patient has a concern, the companion can help contact Aura and describe what has happened. They should not decide that a sign is normal, delay communication or replace an instruction with something found online.
Before leaving the clinic, ask:
- Which instructions should both of us have in writing?
- Which contact channel should we use, and when?
- Which concerns should be reported?
- Which reviews require the patient to attend?
- Is any specific practical help expected from the companion?
- Which choices must the companion never make or change?
Et’hem Bey Mosque: a companion-only visit
If the companion has free time while the patient rests or follows the clinical plan, the Et’hem Bey Mosque offers a distinct cultural stop. The Albanian National Tourism Agency describes it as an important historical and cultural monument in central Tirana, built at the end of the eighteenth century and completed at the beginning of the nineteenth. Check the official source for current visitor information and respect its function as a place of worship.
Clinical timing and recovery come first; the Et’hem Bey Mosque is suggested only for the companion while the patient follows Aura’s instructions.
The companion should keep the phone on and the visit easy to change if the patient or clinic needs them. This section does not suggest that the patient should go sightseeing after the procedure.
