Aura Medical Clinic

Liposuction and non-surgical body contouring do not start with the same question. Liposuction is cosmetic surgery intended to remove localised fat deposits and improve body contours. At Aura, BTL Exilis is associated with skin tightening and non-surgical contouring of a treated area.

That does not make either option right for everyone. The starting point is the change you want to discuss, the area, the quality of the skin and tissues, your history and what each plan involves. Liposuction is not a substitute for overall weight loss, and non-surgical treatments do not promise a specified change in kilograms or centimetres.

This table explains the difference between two possible consultation conversations. It does not establish candidacy, rank results or decide which option is better for an individual.

When the goal concerns localised fat and contour

Liposuction may be discussed when the concern involves localised fat deposits and the contour of one or more areas. At consultation, the surgeon assesses body structure, the area, skin quality, goals and the overall plan. Possible areas include the abdomen, waist and hips, thighs, arms, back or below the chin, but a general list does not determine the plan.

At Aura, the process includes consultation, preparation following the team’s instructions, the procedure, postoperative monitoring and follow-up appointments. Recovery varies between people and with the treated areas. The team gives individual advice on care and activity; the quotation is prepared after consultation according to the areas, complexity and surgeon.

When the goal concerns skin tightening or non-surgical contouring

If you want to discuss skin tightening or non-surgical contouring of an area, BTL Exilis is Aura’s service most closely associated with those goals. Exilis combines radiofrequency and ultrasound for controlled heating of the tissues. Settings and duration are adapted to the area and individual plan.

The assessment considers the area, skin and tissues, health history, implants or medical devices, recent procedures and expectations. Pregnancy, infections, wounds, active irritation, sensitivity or circulation problems should be reported. Warmth or tenderness may be felt during or after a session, and temporary redness, swelling, bruising or irritation may occur.

Why Emtone, Icoone and pressotherapy are not the same choice

Emtone has a different role: Aura associates it primarily with improving the appearance of cellulite and skin-surface texture. Icoone Laser Med may be discussed for goals involving cellulite appearance, skin quality and elasticity, drainage and contour-support. Pressotherapy uses controlled pneumatic compression for goals related to lymphatic drainage, circulation or a feeling of heavy legs; it is not a weight-loss or fat-reduction treatment.

These distinct roles do not mean treatments should be combined. If you have more than one concern, describe each at consultation. The team can explain what may be assessed in your case and which instructions apply.

Five questions to ask at consultation

  1. Does my goal relate to localised fat, skin tightening, cellulite appearance or another concern?
  2. What does assessment of the area, skin and tissues show about the change I want to discuss?
  3. Why is a surgical procedure or non-surgical treatment being discussed for my goal?
  4. What should I organise for preparation, aftercare, activity and follow-up?
  5. How will the individual plan, including the quotation, be decided and reviewed?

A short checklist to save

  • ☐ I have noted the area and the change I want to discuss.
  • ☐ I will explain whether my concern relates to contour, skin, cellulite appearance or a tissue sensation.
  • ☐ I have a list of medicines, medical devices and recent procedures to report.
  • ☐ I will ask about limitations, recovery or aftercare for the option being discussed.
  • ☐ I will not base a choice on a promise about weight, centimetres or a guaranteed result.
